Can I take my rented motorcycle on a ferry?

Yes, of course you can take your motorcycle on a ferry. However, you should always let us know in advance during the booking process. If we are informed of your plans in advance, we can also give you helpful planning tips.

There are plenty of ferries in Croatia. There are domestic ferries from the mainland to the larger islands off the coast, as well as international ferries from Croatia, for example, to Italy or wherever you want to go.

There are also excellent ferry connections, for example, from Durrës in Albania to Bari in Italy, if you have or want to plan a longer motorcycle tour.

All ferry companies, whether domestic or international, offer an online booking system. To ensure you reach your destination by ferry, we recommend booking your ferry ticket a few days before departure. Depending on the ferry route and time of year (high or low season), it may even be advisable to book tickets several weeks in advance.

International ferry connections primarily operate overnight. This means that the ferry leaves the port at 10:00 PM, for example, and arrives at its destination the next morning at 7:00 AM. These ferries also offer overnight accommodations in single, double, or four-bed cabins. The cabins can be booked as inside or outside cabins, preferably with private shower facilities.

A very good way to filter out all or at least the most important ferry connections and book them online can be found at Direct Ferries, for example. There are, of course, plenty of other comparison portals for booking the right ferry ticket.

Important note:
PLEASE keep in mind that, depending on the departure and destination ports, you may also be leaving the EU and/or re-entering the EU. This also means crossing a border, and depending on your country of origin, you must have your passport with you. Without a passport, check-in would not be possible in this case. You will also need ALL other documents that you would need if you were crossing any other border on any mainland.
