What do I need to rent a motorcycle?
What do I need to rent a motorcycle?
To rent a motorcycle, you need to meet the basic rental requirements, present the required documents at pickup, and have a valid credit card for the security deposit. The exact documents may depend on your licence country, nationality, and planned motorcycle route.
At MotoGS Rental Croatia, the minimum requirements are clear: you must be at least 23 years old, have at least 3 years of motorcycle riding experience, and hold a valid Category A motorcycle licence or an equivalent full motorcycle licence for the motorcycle you want to rent.
You must also present a valid ID document. For EU citizens, this is usually a national ID card. For non-EU citizens, it is normally a passport. If your motorcycle licence was issued outside the EU or EEA, an International Driving Permit is strongly recommended and may be required for police checks, border crossings, insurance handling, or accident documentation.
A valid credit card is required for the EUR 2,000 security deposit. This amount is reserved on your credit card at pickup and released after return, provided there are no open claims, damage, missing equipment, unpaid fees, traffic fines, tolls, or other obligations under the rental agreement. Please check the details about rental deposit and credit card before your rental starts.
If your route includes approved border crossings, you must carry the required international travel and vehicle documents. Depending on your route, this may include your passport or national ID card, motorcycle licence, International Driving Permit, border crossing permit, International Insurance Card / Green Card, rental agreement, and vehicle registration documents.
MotoGS Rental Croatia prepares the required border and insurance documents for approved international routes and hands them over at pickup. You must still make sure that your personal documents, licence, passport or ID card, and any visa or entry requirements are valid for every country on your planned route.
Before pickup, choose your motorcycle, check availability, confirm the rental period, complete the required rental payment, and make sure your credit card limit is sufficient for the deposit.

At pickup, MotoGS Rental Croatia checks your documents, confirms the payment and deposit, completes the motorcycle handover, explains the included equipment, and provides the prepared rental documents. If required documents are missing, invalid, unclear, or do not show the required motorcycle entitlement, the motorcycle may not be handed over.
